Diatribe: Dexcom G6-sensori ja pieni sensori yhteistyössä Verilyn kanssa

Diatribe -verkkojulkaisu kertoi kahdesta Dexcomin suunnittelemasta tuotteesta. Toinen on G6-sensori. Se on samaa perhettä nykyisin käytössä olevien G4 & G5 sensorien kanssa. Siinä on pidempi käyttöaika n. 10-14 vrk ja parempi mittaustarkkuus n. 8,1% ja 96% mittauksista 20% tarkkuudella sormenpäämittauksiin! Sitä(G6) ei tarvitse kalibroida yhtä usein(tai jopa ei ollenkaan) kuin edellisen sukupolven sensoreita. Pitkä käyttöaika vähentää tarvetta vaihtaa sensoreita ja laskee kustannuksia.

Uusi "Dexcom/Verilyn" sensonsori

Toinen uutuus on yhteistyössä Verilyn (Osa Alphabet/Googlea) kanssa kehitteillä oleva pienen , pieni sensori.(kuvassa) Se on vain pienen kolikon kokoinen , huomattavasti Freestyle Libreä pienempi. Mielenkiintoista on, että sen on tarkoitus olla edullisempi kuin nykyiset sensorit. jolloin yhä useammalla on mahdollisuus saada jatkuva (kudos)sensorointi..

Another standout in Dexcom’s pipeline is its partnership with Verily (the part of Alphabet Inc. formerly known as Google Life Sciences), which aims to develop two smaller, less expensive CGM devices. Earlier this month, Dexcom showed the latest pictures of the “thinnest CGM ever,” with less volume than an M&M and roughly the size of a penny – check out the picture below of the second-gen device! This would dramatically reduce the size of CGM on the body, hopefully make it less expensive, and bring the technology to far more people than are currently using it (only about 1-in-5 people with type 1 in the US use CGM, and far fewer people with type 2 diabetes)."
